About the Institute

The Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences of Canada (IHSSC) is a scholar-led research and scholarly publishing institute. Federally incorporated through Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), IHSSC promotes research, scholarly communication, and international academic exchange across the humanities and social sciences.

IHSSC explores the future of the humanities and social sciences in the age of AI, with particular attention to its impact on scholarship, society, and the next generation of researchers.

With a particular focus on emerging and early-career scholars in developing countries across Asia and the wider Global South, IHSSC fosters research, scholarly publishing, international collaboration, and academic mobility, while strengthening connections between these academic communities and wider global networks.
